How Do Adoption Services Empower Birth Mothers with Choices

You have just found out you are pregnant, and it was not part of your plan. Your mind is racing with questions and fears. Do not worry, you don’t have to figure everything out today. If you are not ready to parent, adoption is a path you can explore. Let us clear something up right away: choosing adoption is NOT “giving up.” It involves making a thoughtful and loving decision for your child and for your future. At Colorado Christian Services (CCS), we have walked with women through this journey and have been providing adoption services for over 62 years.

Adoption is not What Most People Think

People usually misunderstand adoption. It’s not about selfishness or shame, it’s about love, courage, and choice. When you choose adoption, you stay in control:

  • You decide what kind of adoption you want
  • You choose the adoptive family
  • You set the boundaries and level of contact
  • You are supported emotionally throughout

No one makes decisions for you—you’re in charge. CCS is here to support you.

Your Adoption Options

You can shape adoption to fit what feels right for you. You choose the level of connection you want with your child and the adoptive family.

Open Adoption

If you want to stay involved in your child’s life:

  • You choose and meet the adoptive family
  • You can build a real relationship with them
  • You can stay in touch through pictures, texts, calls, or even visits
  • You’re part of your child’s story

Semi-Open Adoption

If you want privacy but still want updates:

  • You get letters and photos through CCS
  • Your identity stays private
  • No direct contact unless you choose it later

Closed Adoption

If you need emotional space:

  • No contact after placement
  • Your identity remains confidential
  • You still receive full support from CCS

There is no “right” or “wrong” type of adoption—just what feels right for you.

The Families Are Ready

Every adoptive family that works with CCS goes through a thorough screening and approval process. These are people who are genuinely ready to love and care for a child. You can choose the family that best fits your vision—whether that’s a family with kids already, a couple who can’t wait to become parents, or a family that shares your values and background.

We Can Help with Pregnancy-Related Expenses

Worried about finances? You’re not alone — and we’re here to help. As a licensed adoption agency, CCS can assist as needed with pregnancy-related expenses:

  • Transportation
  • Free Options Counseling
  • Medical care access
  • Help with food
  • Rental Assistance

Choosing the Right Adoption Agency

If you’re exploring adoption, make sure the agency you work with:

  • Is licensed in Colorado
  • Provides 24/7 support for birth mothers
  • Offers free counseling and legal help
  • Respects your decisions without pressure

If you’re feeling stressed, scared, or unsure—reach out. Sometimes, talking to someone who understands can be more helpful than you think.
