Navigating Teenage Pregnancy Options: Your Rights and Resources

Teenage pregnancy can be overwhelming. It brings questions about health, independence, identity, education, finances, and the future. If you’re in Colorado and seeking guidance on your options, Colorado Christian Services (CCS) can help you.

About Colorado Christian Services?

If you are interested in learning more about adoption, the next step is to connect with a licensed adoption agency, such as Colorado Christian Services. With over 62 years of experience, Colorado Christian Services (CCS) provides confidential, free support to birth mothers. We are here to answer your questions, explore your options, and support you in whatever you decide is best.

Supportive, Non-judgmental Counseling

You don’t have to go through this alone. Our caring, licensed caseworkers are available anytime to listen without judgment or pressure. We will discuss your options and help you create a plan that provides peace of mind and confidence in your next steps.

Adoption Support

If adoption feels right for you, you stay in control of creating your adoption plan. You choose the adoptive family, decide how much contact you want, and shape a plan that fits your comfort level — before and after birth. Our role is to honor your choices and make sure you feel supported every step of the way. Our services include:

  • Helping you create the kind of adoption plan you want
  • Connecting you with waiting adoptive families
  • Giving you choices about the contact you maintain after placement
  • Support throughout pregnancy, birth, and after placement care

Creating an Adoption Plan

You’re in charge of your adoption plan. That means you get to decide:

Who are the adoptive parents? (You can review their profiles and learn more about them.)

The type of adoption you want:

  • Open (ongoing contact)
  • Semi-open (limited or mediated contact)
  • Closed (no contact)

Your Rights as a Teenage Birth Mother

When you are pregnant — especially as a teen — it’s important to know your rights. These apply whether you choose to parent the child yourself or consider adoption:

  • CCS will provide unbiased information about your options without pressuring you.
  • You have the right to ask questions about your choices, risks, and long-term implications.
  • You choose whether you want to parent or pursue adoption. CCS supports both.
  • If you choose adoption, you have control over how much contact you want with the adoptive family and what your birth plan looks like.
