20 Apr Placing Baby Up For Adoption During the Pandemic
“I am very close to giving birth and thinking about placing my baby up for adoption in Colorado. However, I’m not allowed to leave my home because of the “shelter-in” orders due to the pandemic. What should I do?”
You’re not alone. Many women in Colorado, and all around the country, are in the same situation as you. If you’re considering giving a baby up for adoption in Colorado (or as we call it, making an adoption plan), but not sure how to proceed during “shelter-in” orders, we can help you.
One thing that we’re often asked by women facing an unplanned pregnancy is: How do I know that adoption will be the right thing for me and the baby? Well, that’s always a tough decision to make. That being said, being a mother requires you to make some really tough decisions, even when you’re only just pregnant. Good mothers will ALWAYS place the needs of their children ahead of their own needs. If adoption provides your child with the best chance for a bright future, then making an adoption plan might be the best option for you and your child.
At the same time, you know your situation better than anyone else. Deep down, you probably know just how prepared you are to become a mother at this time. If you truly are prepared, that is wonderful. That is what we want to hear. However, if you know that you are not prepared, or you’re not sure, then we can help you answer those questions, as well as any questions you may have about adoption, so that you can make the best decision for you and your baby.
